ScamShield AI helps users review suspicious messages, screenshots, links, and phone numbers for scam awareness. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be handled when you use the app.
Information You Provide
You may choose to submit message text, suspicious links, phone numbers, screenshots, or OCR text extracted from screenshots. This information is used to provide scam analysis, risk explanations, warning signs, recommended actions, and related safety guidance.
AI Processing and Third-Party Service Providers
When you run an AI scam check, user-submitted text, links, phone numbers, and OCR text from screenshots may be securely transmitted to ScamShield AI’s backend service.
The backend may process this content using OpenAI to generate AI-powered scam analysis, risk scoring, scam category classification, detected scam signals, and recommended safety actions.
ScamShield AI only sends the content you explicitly submit for analysis. This information is used solely to provide the requested app functionality.
Screenshot Handling
ScamShield AI may use on-device OCR to extract readable text from screenshots. By default, scan history stores only a small local thumbnail for screenshot scans, not the full original screenshot.
Local Storage
Scan history and saved scam reports are stored locally on your device. ScamShield AI does not currently provide account login, cloud sync, or public sharing of your scan history.
Quota and Subscription Status
The app may store local quota information, such as remaining free scans, reset date, and subscription-related status, to provide app functionality and prevent abuse of free usage limits.
Subscriptions and Purchases
Subscription purchases, if offered, are processed by Apple through the App Store. ScamShield AI does not receive or store your full payment card details.
No Sale or Advertising Use
ScamShield AI does not sell your personal data. Submitted scan content is not used for third-party advertising and is not publicly shared with other users.
Important Safety Notice
ScamShield AI is designed for scam awareness and educational guidance. Results may be incomplete or incorrect. Always verify important messages, payments, account issues, or legal notices through official websites, official apps, or published contact numbers.
Sensitive Information
Do not submit passwords, OTPs, banking PINs, full identity documents, or other highly sensitive personal information into the app.
Children
ScamShield AI is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the effective date on this page.
